About Us

The Songa community conservancy (SCC) is a community-based organization that was established in 2013 to promote sustainable utilization of resources and enhance natural resources and wildlife conservation for social economic benefits. Songa was registered as a community-based organization (CBO) and is governed by 13 board members selected from different locations mainly Kamboe, Karare, Songa and Hula hula Locations. Songa conservancy has developed baseline infrastructure system including building HQs, rangers’ outpost, and procurement of office and security equipment as well as transport management.

Financial Empowerment

Microcredit for moran and women to boost their businesses and provide alternative income especially for the Morans.

Providing educational programs that inform community members about sustainable practices and ecological conservation.

The mission is to promote wildlife conservation and socio-economic development through sustainable utilization of natural resources. Its objectives are to ensure community participation in decision making, boost security for people, livestock and wildlife, and conserve wildlife and natural resources whilst improving livelihoods, and human welfare.
